Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) came out of the fire of Nimrod safe and sound. The fire did not hurt him at all. Even after seeing this great miracle, those people didn’t accept Islam. Then, Allah Most High ordered Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) to leave his country and emigrated from there to Syria, as given in the Holy Quran:
Then Ibrahim (Abraham) said: ‘(Emigrating,) I am going to my Lord. He will certainly guide me.’ (He immigrated to Syria). Surah As Saffaat (37:99)
‘Allama Qazi Sanaullah Panipati (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says:
Translation: When Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) came out of the fire safe and sound and the idolaters didn’t believe even after seeing such a great miracle, then Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) said: I am leaving your land of disbelief and am going to such a place where I will worship my Lord in peace. When he came out of the fire unhurt, he said: I am going to my Lord. He will guide me to such a place where my religion will succeed or meaning that I will go to such a place where my Lord will order me to go. He went to Syria.
Out of fear of Nimrod, Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) left the land of Babel. Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) was the most beautiful woman of her times. Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) passed through Egypt and the ruler of Egypt at that time was Sadif Bin Sadif. He snatched away Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) from Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) and tookher to his palace. Allah Most High made the walls thin like the crust of an egg so that Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) could see Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) all the time and be at ease. He was very sensitive about his honor. When this tyrant went to Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her), there was an earthquake. He didn’t understand it was because of Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her). He went to another palace and that palace also started trembling and swaying. He went to a third palace and even that started swaying. He let Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) go.
Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) told that all this is happening because of Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) and he let her go back.
It is mentioned in another narration that when the pharaoh extended his hand towards Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon him), his hand was paralyzed. He requested and pleaded before Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) for prayers. His hand became normal. He again reached out for her and his hand was again paralyzed. He again pleaded before Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) and promised that he will not do such a thing again. Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) said a prayer and his hand became normal. This shameless fellow tried this a third and again his hand was paralyzed. Now, he swore that if his hand became normal, he would not do such a thing again. Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) said a prayer and his hand became normal again. Imam Ahmed has recorded a Hadith in Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hambal and Imams Bukhari and Muslim in their books (i.e. Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Once, Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) passed by a cruel ruler along with Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her). That king was informed that a person has come here with whom there is a very beautiful woman. The king called Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) and asked him about Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her). He said: She is my sister. When he returned to Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her), he told her: O Sarah! There is no believer on the face of the earth except you and me. This cruel ruler asked me about you and I told him that you are my sister. You don’t refute me (as you are my sister in faith and belief). The king called Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her). When she entered the court, he reached out to her with evil intentions, but his hand was paralyzed. The king begged Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) to pray for him and said that he would not hurt her at all. Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) prayed for him and his hand became normal again. The king summoned his courtier and said: You didn’t bring a human being to me but have brought me a genie.
The king then offered Hadhrat Hajira to Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon them) as a slave. When Hadhrat Sarah returned to Prophet Ibrahim with Hadhrat Hajira (May peace be upon them), he was offering Salaat. Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon them) questioned her with a gesture. Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her) said: All Most High returned the malice and evil schemes of the sinner to his own bosom and he gave me Hajira as a slave.
Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) did not have any children from Hadhrat Sarah (May peace be upon her). She told Prophet Ibrahim (May peace be upon them): Hajira is also a pleasing woman. Accept her, maybe that you will have children from her.
