How does a woman know that her menstrual bleeding has ended
It is narrated on the authority of ‘Alqama bin Abi ‘Alqama, he relates on the authority of his mother, who was the freed slave of Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her), she says: Women would send rags in bags to Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her).
If they would be red (with bleeding), Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her) would tell them: Don’t be hasty – until you see that the bleeding is like whitish water (as when the menses end, in the end a kind of whitish water is discharged which denotes the cleanness of the uterus).
The intent of Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her) was that absolute purity (from menses) should be gained.
This is related by Imam Malik (May Allah be well pleased with him).
‘Abdur Razzaq (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) also related this with rigorously authenticated chain of narration.
Imam Bukhari (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) has also related this Hadith underneath other Hadith.
