The Prophet's kind treatment of His blessed wives

 

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat ‘Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her), she says:  By Allah!  I saw the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) standing at my door and the Abyssinians were displaying martial feats with spears.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was covering me with His mantle so that I could watch the display over His shoulder.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) stood there for my sake until I moved away (tired of it).

 

Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her) says:  From this, you can understand that how long a young girl who likes games can stand (and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) remained standing for my sake the entire time).  This is related by both Bukhari and Muslim.

 

The Prophet’s forbearance with Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her)

 

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her), she says:  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) once told me:  I know it when you are happy with Me and (similarly) I also understand it when you are angry.  I asked:  O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)!  How do you perceive that?

 

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  When you are happy with Me, you say...By the Lord of Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), this is not so.  When you are angry with Me, you say:  By the Lord of Ibrahim (May peace be upon him), this is not so.

 

(On this) I said:  (You say the truth).  O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), by Allah! I only stop myself from taking Your name (but your love is present in my heart).  This is related by Both Bukhari and Muslim.

 

It should be remembered that the displeasure of Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her) is about household matters and not about matters of religion, which would mar the faith.  This displeasure would be on account of the other mothers of the believers, which is but natural for women and the Shariah doesn’t take them to account for it.  (Mirqaat, 12)
