How does Satan trap people?

How does Satan trap people?

With every human being, there is an angel and a devil

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  With each of you, there is someone appointed from among the djinns (i.e. a devil) and someone appointed from among the angels.  People asked:  Is it the same with you, o Prophet of Allah?  The Prophet said:  Yes with me too, but Allah has helped me against him.  He has become obedient to me (I am protected from its evil).  Thus, he only suggests good things to me.

Muslim has related this Hadith.

Satan courses through the body of human beings like blood itself

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Anas (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  (The wiles of) Satan course through human beings the way blood courses through human beings.

Bukhari and Muslim have unanimously related this Hadith.

The infant shrieks at the time of birth because Satan touches it

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: At the time of the birth of every infant of the progeny of Adam, Satan touches it due to which the infant shrieks, except Hadhrat Maryam and her son Hadhrat ‘Eisa (May peace be upon them) (Satan did not touch them).

Bukhari and Muslim have unanimously related this Hadith.

The crying of the infant at the time of birth is because Satan startles it

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  The crying of a newborn at the time of birth is because of the prodding of Satan.

Bukhari and Muslim have unanimously related this Hadith.

How Iblees ensnares human beings

It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Indeed, Iblees sets his throne on water, then sends his hordes to afflict people.  The closest among them to Iblees is the one who incites the biggest tribulation.  Thus, one among them comes and says:  I have incited so and so ordeals and Iblees says:  This is nothing.  Then the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says:  One among them comes and says:  I didn’t leave them until I separated the man and his wife.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says:  Iblees lets him come close to him and says to him:  You are really good.

A’amash (May Allah be well pleased with him) says:  I think that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Iblees embraces him.

Muslim has related this Hadith.
