Satan cannot misguide the favorites of Allah Most High
Satan has been misguiding all and sundry since he was rejected and cursed by Almighty Allah. However, Satan has no hold over the specials and favorites of the Lord Almighty. Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam Imam Muhammad Anwaarullah Farooqui (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) writes about this:
Almighty Allah said: In whatever way you can, using yourself and your armies, fulfill your heartfelt desires with full leisure, as Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran:
"Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them. But Satan promises them nothing but deceit. Surah Isra (17:64)
In fact, We grant you power over their hearts as well. You conceal yourself from them and give them malicious advice covertly. However, remember that you will have no hold over My special servants. (Maqasid Ul Islam, Vol. 8, Pg. No. 93)
The saints are protected from sins
It is mentioned in Hadith that Satan places its snout on the heart of the human being and casts its whispers and when that person starts making remembrance of Almighty Allah, Satan withdraws. This shows that Satan does not have any power over the heart which is engaged in remembrance of Almighty Allah. For this reason, the saints are free of sins and the Prophets are innocent, as the hearts of these greats are always engaged in remembrance of Almighty Allah…
The debasement of Satan in the presence of Hadhrat Ghouse Azam (May Allah be well pleased with him)
Thus, it is mentioned in the biographies of Hadhrat Ghouse Azam (May Allah be well pleased with him) that in his earlier life, he engaged in many mortifications. One night, he was busy in the remembrance of Almighty Allah that suddenly a light emerged on the sky which illuminated the horizons. The Shaykh was surprised and started looking around. He heard an unseen voice: O ‘Abdul Qadir! You have engaged in profuse worship. The reward of it is that whatever is prohibited on others, we make it permissible for you!
