Hadhrat Syed Ahmed Badepa (May Allah shower His Mercy on him)

The name of this great scholar and saint is “Syed Ahmed” and he is known as “Badepa

He is the disciple and Caliph (Representative) of the King of the Mashaikheen, Hadhrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him).

Reason behind the title of “Badepa:

This is a well known tradition that when his master Hadhrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him) called him, he traveled to Delhi in the night and returned to Hyderabad before morning.  Thus, the title of “Badepa” is granted by the master, Hadhrat Nizamuddin.

His life:

He was born in Delhi itself and grew up in that city.  On the order of his master, he came to Deccan from Delhi along with Hadhrat Shaykh Burhanuddin Ghareeb (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him) in 709 Hijri.  Hadhrat Burhanuddin stayed at Khuldabad and he came to Hyderabad and settled in the hilly area of Asifnagar and stayed here forever.

This was the time when in south, Alauddin Khilji’s rule was going on and in Deccan, the ruler was Rana Pratap Rudradev.

He is such a source of blessings that even after his passing away, a great many people are illuminating their hearts through him.

His shrine is in Asifnagar, First Lancer and is visited by innumerable people and people still derive blessings from him.

His Urs is celebrated on 11 Jamadi Ul Awwal with all respect and dignity.
