Punishment given to Yazid and his supporters

The whole world looked down upon Yazid and his supporters.  Still, those shameless people would not feel any shame at all.  When they took Imam Hussain’s (May Allah be well pleased with him) blessed head from Karbala, it was giving out the fragrance of musk.  The angels had shaded it, his lips were reciting the Holy Quran.  When they passed the house of Hadhrat Zaid Bin Arqam, at that time Hadhrat Zaid was reciting Surah Kahf.  When the head came close to him, Hadhrat Zaid was reciting:   Translation:  Do you think that the incident of the people of Kahf is strange?   A sound came from the blessed head of Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him):  The incident of the people of Kahf is not strange, but my incident is stranger than theirs.   Hadhrat Zaid cried out and said:  O son of the Prophet of Allah!  Indeed! Your incident is 1000 times stranger than the incident of the people of Kahf.   When the blessed head was placed before Yazid, a Jew was sitting there.   The Jew asked:  Whose head is this?   Yazid replied:  Hussain’s (May Allah be well pleased with him).   The Jew asked:  Who were his mother and father?   Yazid said:  His father was Hadhrat Ali and his mother was Hadhrat Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with them).   The Jew asked:  Who was the father of Hadhrat Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with her)?   Yazid embarrassingly said:  Hadhrat Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).   That Jew threw down his turban, banged his head and said: I have descended from a Prophet, 70 generations have passed, but even today, the Jews kiss the threshold of my house.  O rogues!  It was only yesterday that your Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) passed away and today, you cut off the head of his maternal grandson and dispatch it here and there?   Yazid had a lawyer who was Christian.  He said:  The mark of the rein of the donkey of Hadhrat Isa (peace be upon him) is there on a stone.  Even today, the Christians are sacrifice their lives and their wealth for it.   Alas O Yazid alas!  You do this with the close relatives of your Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)?   The obedience of Hawa did not allow them to think about such a clear thing as this.   Why do unlawful killings take place?  Because of this Hawa.   Why did Qabeel murder Habeel?  Because of this Hawa.   Punishment in this world to the supporters of Yazid for following Hawa:   The punishment of following Hawa will anyhow be given in the hereafter, but one will have to bear it in this world as well.   Not even 2 years had passed after the martyrdom of Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him), that all the rogues were destroyed through various punishments.  However, one person who was from among them was still left.  When he heard the talk of destruction of the oppressors of Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him), he said:  I am still left.  After saying this, he stood up.  By chance, the flame of the fire caught his clothes.  He would run and the flame was fanned.  At last, he jumped into a tank of water.  Water worked like oil here and he was burned to ashes.   Hadhrat Hasan Basri (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says:  A person would come to us for getting answers for issues.  Such a stench would come from his mouth that no one had the restraint and ability to bear it.  We would be shy of asking him the reason.  At last one day, he was asked.  He became very embarrassed and said:  Don’t humiliate me.  Nonetheless, I will tell you my state.  I am one of those who were to guard River Euphrates and would stop Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) and his lovers from drinking water.   After the incident of Karbala, I saw a dream that Qiyamah has been established and I am very thirsty.  Great Sahabah are sitting at Houz-e-Kauthar.  Some are standing and giving people water of Houz-e-Kauthar to drink.  I asked for water.  Nobody paid any attention.  Then I went to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and requested.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) gave the order to give water to me.  The order came many times, but no one gave me water.  At last, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) asked: Why don’t you give water to him.  The Sahabah said: O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)! He is among those who had stopped Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) from the water of the river.  He kept Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) and his army thirsty.   The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Make him drink tar.  I drank tar.  When I got up, there was the stench from the mouth.   Hadhrat Hasan Basri (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says:  We told him not to come to us.  He could not bear this humiliation and died.
