Gap Of Time Between Sehri And Fajr


At the time of Sehri (pre-dawn meal), we should ask Allah Ta&rsquo;ala for His forgiveness.&nbsp;&nbsp;Allah Ta&rsquo;ala describes the qualities of pious people:<br /> <br /> And used to (get up and) seek forgiveness in the later part of the night.&nbsp;&nbsp;Surah Dhaariyaat <span style="color: #993300"><b>(51:18)<br /> </b></span><br /> Also,<span style="color: #339966"><b> there is a Hadith in Jame&rsquo; Tirmidhi </b></span>about the amount of time between Sehri and Fajr<br /> <br /> <span style="color: #ff0000"><b>Translation of Hadith:</b></span> Hadhrat Anas Bin Malik narrates on the authority of Hadhrat Zaid Bin Thabit (May Allah be well pleased with him), that he says: We had Sehri with the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> and then got up for Salaat.&nbsp;&nbsp;I asked: How much time in between.&nbsp;&nbsp;He said: Equal to the time taken for reciting 50 verses of the Holy Quran.&nbsp;<span style="color: #993300"><b>&nbsp;(Jame&rsquo; Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 707)<br /> </b></span><br /> For this reason, the Fuqaha (Jurists) have clarified that having Sehri so late that the time for Fajr might start, is Makruh.<br /> <br /> Nowadays, Sehri should be finished as per the time given in the calendars, etc., as they are prepared by in light of the research of the scholars.<br />
