Holy Quran and Hadith - 2 Bases of Islamic Law

The Holy Quran is a divine code of life, which is explained by the Hadith.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">It is given in Surah Nahl:<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">(We sent them) with Clear Signs and scriptures and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought. Surah Nahl (16:44)<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) has given the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) absolute authority about Halal and Haraam and has stated the importance of blessed words of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam):<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures);― in the Law and the Gospel;― for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil: he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him honour, him, help him, and follow the Light which is sent down with him― it is they who will prosper. Surah A'araaf (7:157)<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">The Holy Quran has commands of offering Salaat, fasting, of Zakaat and of Haj, but the number of the Salaat and their time, the number of Raka'at, the eligibility of Zakaat, the different rules of Fasting and the articles of Haj are not mentioned explicitly. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) handed over all these details to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and made His actions the Sunnah and His words as the commands of the Shariah. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) says:</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of Allah. Surah Ahzab-(33:21)<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">It is given in Surah Hashr:</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear Allah; for Allah is strict in Punishment. Surah Hashr (59:7)<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Nobody has the authority to object to what the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) says:<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger, to have any option about their decision: if anyone disobeys Allah and His Messenger he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path. Surah Ahzab (33:36)<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">The way disrespect and/or denial of any verse of the Holy Quran is absolute denial (Kufr), in the same way disrespect and/or denial of any Mutawatir (Recurrent) Hadith is also Kufr. The Holy Quran is the obvious Wahi (revelation of Allah) and the Hadith is the hidden Wahi. With regard to faith (Iman ) and respect, both are equal, but the only difference is that the Holy Quran is the Wahi, which is recited in the Salaat and Hadith is the Wahi which is not recited in the Salaat.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) says:<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. (3) It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: Surah Najm (53:3/4)<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">There is Hadith in Jame' Tirmidhi that the Sahabah said: O Prophet of Allah! (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), You are humorous with us. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: I do not speak anything but the truth. (Jame' Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 2121)<o:p></o:p></p>
