The Holy Quran must be recited with all its rights and restrictions.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>While reciting one must be careful in expressing each letter with precision.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The recitation should not be so fast that the letters are not pronounced clearly.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Concerning the recitation of the Holy Quran, it is mentioned in a Hadith of Imam al-Bukhari (Vol 1, P 107): <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed">Translation of Hadith:<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Abu Wael narrates, a person came to Abdullah Bin Masood (May Allah be well pleased with him) and said: I recited tonight all the Surah (chapters) of Mufassal in one Raka’at.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Upon hearing this Abdullah Bin Masood (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The way you recited rapidly is like reading the poetry verse.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>It was the habit of Arabs that they used to read the verses of poetries so fast.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed">This shows that the recitation should not be so fast that the letters get mixed up and are not discerned and differentiated normally.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The recitation should be with consideration to each and every letter.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>If someone recites the Quran in such a way that some letters are not pronounced accurately, due to which the meanings of the words are changed, this will invalidate (Fasid) the prayer (Namaz).<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>However, if no change occurs in the meaning it does not invalidate it but it is disliked (makrooh).<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>One should avoid fast recitation.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Recitation should be in such a way that each and every letter is pronounced clearly.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>However, if the pronunciation of resembling letters like "Zoy" and "Zad", "Seen" and "Saad" is not intact, the Salaat will not be invalid as mentioned in Dur-e-Mukhtar Vol. 1, <span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Pg. No: 531 and in Fatawa A'alamgiri Vol.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>1 Pg. No. 79.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family: "Monotype Corsiva"">Listening to Holy Quran while doing some other work:<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="text-align:left;direction:ltr;unicode-bidi: embed">Listening or recitation of the Holy Quran is indeed an act of great reward.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>We should regularly recite it and listen to it in such a way that we keep in mind the greatness of the Word of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and listen to it with utmost concentration and fervor.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Still, if while reading something or doing some other work, you want to listen to the Holy Quran with the intention that the heart and the soul remain in communion with the Lord, it is allowed;
