PIERCING EARS AND NOSE


<span style="font-size: 16px">Islam does not completely prohibit makeup and adornment for women, but it is permissible within the limits of the Shariah.&nbsp;&nbsp;Allah Ta'ala says:<br /> <br /> Say: Who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which He hath produced for his servants, and the things clean and pure (which He hath provided) for sustenance?&nbsp; <b><span style="color: #993300">{Surah A'araaf (7:32)}</span></b><br /> <br /> As tattooing is prohibited as per the Hadith, so tattooing is Haraam (forbidden).&nbsp;&nbsp;However, use of earrings is permissible in light of the Shariah.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Sahabiyaat (Female Sahabah) would wear earring in their ears.&nbsp;<b><span style="color: #993300">&nbsp;(Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 2, Pg No. 874, Hadith No: 5433).</span></b>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The<b> Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) </b>did not prohibit them from doing so.&nbsp;&nbsp;Obviously, for earrings, the ears need to be pierced.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thus, for wearing earrings, the Shariah has considered piercing ears permissible.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> As written by <i>Hadhrat Alauddin Haskafi (May Allah shower His Mercy on him)</i> has written in <span style="color: #993300"><b>(Durre Mukhtaar, Vol. 5, Pg No. 298)<br /> </b></span><br /> <i>Allama Ibn 'Abideen Shaami (May Allah shower His Mercy on him)</i> has said on the issue of piercing nose that if women pierce their nose for adornment (Zeenath in Urdu), as is the custom in some countries, it is permissible and correct the way piercing ears is correct.<br /> <br /> <span style="color: #993300"><b>(Raddul Muhtaar, Vol. 5, Pg No. 298)</b></span></span><br />
