<span style="font-size: 16px">It is forbidden for men to wear gold. The <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> saw a person wearing a gold ring and threw it away. He <b>(Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> declared it a chunk of fire from well. There is a Hadith in<b><span style="color: #993300"> (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, Pg No. 591)<br /> </span></b><br /> <span style="color: #ff0000"><b>Translation of Hadith: </b></span> It has been narrated on the authority of <i>Hadhrat Abdullah bin Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with them)</i> that the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> saw a gold ring in someone's finger, He <b>(Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> threw it away and said: Anyone of you desires a chunk of fire and places this in hand. After the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> left, that person was told: You take your ring and gain some benefit from it (like selling it or through some other way). He said: No! I will never take it. By Allah! I will never take what the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> has thrown away.<br /> <br /> In the light of the Hadith, the Fuqaha have clarified that for men, using gold is absolutely forbidden, regardless of its weight. Thus, the habit of youngsters is against the Shariah, really bad and is forbidden. In the light of the Hadith, this is like a chunk of fire.
