STANDARDS OF PROHIBITION AND PERMISSIBILITY

The basic standard for prohibitions and permissibility is the Holy Quran and the Hadith. In their light, the Fuqaha (Islamic Law Experts) have constituted a principle:

The essence of everything is permissible.

To prove something as permissible (Mubah) and allowed, no proof is required, but to declare something as impermissible (Najayaz) or undesirable (Makruh), proof is required. The deeds and actions prohibited in the Holy Quran and the Hadith are prohibited and the eatables and drinks about which prohibitions are present are forbidden.

Modern methods, eatables, drinks, etc. will be judged according to the principles given in the Holy Quran and the Hadith. If they are found to be permissible and allowed, then their use is allowed and permitted. The Fuqaha (Islamic Law Experts) have collected the very essence of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah in Fiqh. The issues which we face today can be solved in the light of the clarifications and principles given by the Fuqaha (Islamic Law Experts).

This is the responsibility of those selfless, expert scholars who are aware with the intent of the Shariah and are well versed with the principles of Fiqh and have a deep insight in the rules of Islam.
