There are multiple Hadith about the beginning of the journey of Meraj, on whose basis people are rejecting the journey of Meraj altogether. The Muhaddithin (Hadith-Experts) have mentioned all these Hadith and have reconciled (Tatbeeq) all these Hadith. The interpreter of Sahih Bukhari, <i>Imam Badruddin Aini (May Allah shower His Mercy on him)</i> has written: About "Bad Ul Khalq" (A chapter in Sahih Bukhari), it is given: I was in the Ka'aba. <i> Imam Zuhri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him)</i> has narrated on the authority of <i>Hadhrat Anas and Hadhrat Abuzar (May Allah be well pleased with them):</i> The roof of My house split while I was in Makkah Mukarrama. It is given in the Hadith narrated by Waqidi that the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> was taken from the gorge of Abu Talib (shi'b e Abu Talib) and it is given in Mojam Tabarani that the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> was in the house of <i>Hadhrat Umme Hani (May Allah be well pleased with her)</i> and she woke up in the night and did not find the<b> Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).<br /> </b><br /> All these diverse Hadith are reconciled like this: <b>The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> was in the house of <i>Hadhrat Umme Hani (May Allah be well pleased with her), </i>which was in the gorge of Abu Talib. For this reason, the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> described the house as His house and said: …the roof of My house split. From the roof an angel descended and was in the service of the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> from there to the Masjid Haraam. <b>Then the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> rested in the Masjid Haraam and then the angel was in the service of the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) </b>through the door of the Masjid where the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> mounted the Buraq.<br /> (<span style="color: #993300">Umdatul Qari Bab Ul Meraj).<br /> </span>
