The faith of the Companions - A standard for the whole Ummah

Every person's heartfelt desire is that success should become his or her fate, that he or she should lead a dignified life and that he or she should triumph in the hereafter as well.  Every person makes efforts to achieve success.  They spend their energies for this purpose.  But, success can be achieved only when efforts are made in accordance with the guidelines and principles described in the Holy Quran.

 

Allah Most High describes the roadmap to success in the following verse:

 

So those who will believe in this (most exalted Messenger) and will venerate and revere him and serve and support him (in his Din [Religion]) and follow this light (the Qur’an) that has been sent down with him, it is they who will flourish and prosper.’  Surah A’araaf (7:157)

 

The first condition to achieve success is faith.

 

The second condition is the respect of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

 

The third condition is defending the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and helping the religion of Islam.

 

The fourth condition is following the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

 

To act upon these conditions, the blessed lives of the Companions of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), the steadfastness of their faith, their love of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), the way they followed the commands of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) are all the best example for the Ummah.

 

The following verse of the Holy Quran also tells us the same:

 

Then if they (also) believe the way you have believed in Him, then they will (surely) be guided aright.  Surah Baqarah (2:137)

 

He said that Allah Most High has declared the faith of the Companions to be the touchstone for the Ummah.

 

The Companions present such a picture of love of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), such an example of His respect that history cannot ever present a parallel.
