How did the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) emigrate to Madina?

How did the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) emigrate to Madina?

It is mentioned in Shams Ut Tawareekh, etc. that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ordered the Companions to emigrate to Madina and all of them went.  Only Hadhrat ‘Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him) and Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (May Allah be well pleased with him) were left.  The idolaters wanted to ensure that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) could never go.  Thus, one night the idolaters conferred in Dar Un Nadwa as to how to free themselves from the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  After various suggestions it was decided that one brave youth must be selected from every clan and all of them should attack the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and kill him.  When this would happen, the blame of His murder would be on all the clans and the clan of ‘Abde Munaf wouldn’t have the strength to fight all the clans.  They will agree to accepting blood money.  When night fell, the Quraish were waiting for the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to retire for the night.  The chiefs of Quraish like Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab had undertaken the responsibility of this task.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) told Hadhrat ‘Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Quraish have made this decision.  You sleep in my place.  Nothing will happen to you.  You return the trusts of the Quraish which are with me and come to Madina.  After saying this, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) stepped out of the house.  He saw that many of the idolaters are standing.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) cast a fistful of sand on them and recited some verses of the Holy Quran.  That fistful of sand fell in the eyes of all the idolaters and nobody saw Him go.  After He had left, a person asked them:  Why are you standing here?  They replied:  We are waiting for the morning.  As soon as it is morning, we will kill Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) so that the clan of Hashim sees that all of them have killed Him together and they don’t have the courage of avenging Him.  That person said: Woe on you blind men!  The man who just walked away from before you was Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Now, Abu Jahl and all other idolaters beat their heads in frustration and each one of them found sand in their heads. This was the same sand that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) had thrown at them.

Just see!  How much was that fistful of sand blessed that it fell in the eyes and on the heads of all the idolaters and made them blind and while the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was going, no one even got a thought as to the identity of the person going.  The idolaters were all around the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  The whole city was His enemy and each person wanted to shed His blood.  It is night.  All the chiefs of Quraish had surrounded His house.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is all alone.  There are neither doorkeepers in the house nor any guards nor any friend.  In such a situation, the command was given to make Hadhrat ‘Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him) sleep in His place and He should emigrate to Madina.  When the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) stepped out of the house, how He must have felt?  Sometimes He must laughed at the rashness of the idolaters that these fools are standing here to fight with Allah Most High.  At other times, the majesty of the Lord Almighty must have been before Him.  That some of the best brave-hearts of Arabia, whose bravery is axiomatic in all of Arabia, have been brought here against Him and the plan is to shatter their plans with a fistful of sand.  Those who are proud of means should learn something from this incident.  No means can be useful against the Master of the means.  One lowly mean can destroy all other means.
