It is mentioned in “Kitab Ul Fadhaail” of Kanz Ul ‘Ummal that Hadhrat Jabir bin Samurah (May Allah be well pleased with him) says: Boys would come to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and He would path sometimes one cheek, sometimes the other and sometimes both cheeks of the boys. Once, I also went. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) graced one of my cheeks with His blessed hand. Thus, it became more beautiful than the other cheek.
It is mentioned in Kitab Ul Hajj of Kanz Ul ‘Ummal that Hadhrat Harith (May Allah be well pleased with him) says: the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was on ‘Arafaat. The Arabs would come in droves, see the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and say: This is a blessed face. I also presented myself and requested the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to pray for my forgiveness. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Allahummaghfirlana and bent down and caressed my face. The narrator says that his face remained really fresh until his death.
This effect of the blessed hand of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was so obvious that none can deny it. The freshness of his face was not usual. Otherwise, why would it be mentioned specifically.
There is a Hadith in “Kitab Ul Fadhaail” of Kanz Ul ‘Ummal that a Companion presented made a request to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) about his son. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) called him, placed both His hands on His head and said: “Barakallahu Feeh.” The narrator says that after this whenever anybody would have any swelling or the udder of a goat would be swollen, they would come to him and he would keep his hands on his head and caress the swelling and immediately the swelling would go down.
Just see! The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) placed His blessed hands on the Companions head when he was but a child and the effect lasted for a lifetime and such effect that not only he but everyone else received benefit from it. Here, the mind is flummoxed as to how the effect of the hand planted itself on the top of his head. Then, that effect reaches the ill as well and there it cures the ill. Just think! What long-lasting blessing that was and how communicable it is. The mind can never comprehend it and how can it, because it deals with the physical world and has got nothing to do with the spiritual world.
There is a Hadith in “Kitab Ul Fadhaail” of Kanz Ul ‘Ummal on the authority of Hadhrat ‘Ata (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says: I saw Hadhrat Saib (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the middle part of his head was black and the rest of his head and his beard had all turned white. I asked him the reason for it. He said: In childhood, I was playing with some children. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) passed by us. I went forward and greeted the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) with “Salaam.” The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) returned my greeting and asked: Who are you? I answered: I am Saib, son of so and so. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) caressed my head with His hands and said: “Barakallahu Feek.” The effect of His blessed hand was that it would never turn white.
Just see! This was the visible effect of the blessed hand of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) that people would see and wonder and no one can object to this.
