Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her)

Among the women she was the first to embrace Islam.  The respected wives of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) are the mothers of the whole Ummah (Followers).  Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) graced them with distinctive dignity and high status among the women only because of their marital relationship with the Holy Prophet  (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  He honored them with the gift of piety and purity and bestowed them with chastity and modesty and made them an ideal for all the women until the Qiyamah.  Allah Ta'ala has given them such a high status that no other woman in the world can ever reach it.  Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) says:

 

Translation: O ye wives of the Prophet! Ye are not like any other women.  (Surah Ahzab: 32)

 

It is given in Sahih Bukhari that Hadhrat Jibreel (May peace be upon him) came to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and said:  Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with her) is fast approaching you with food in an utensil and when she arrives, kindly convey the salaam (greetings) of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and of mine to her and also give her the glad tidings of a palace of pearls for her in Jannah in which there will no disturbance and no other pain or suffering.

 

It is narrated in Jame' Tirmidhi that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would reminisce about her a lot after she passed away into the presence of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and whenever He slaughtered a goat, He certainly would gift some of it to her friends as well.  (Tirmidhi , Vol.  No: 2, Pg.  No: 22)

 

It is narrated by Hadhrat Ali (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with him) in Sahih Bukhari that Hadhrat Maryam (May peace be upon her) is the best woman of her time and Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with her) is the best woman of her period.

 

Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with her) is the first among all women, to embrace Islam.  After the proclamation of Prophethood, when the waves of protest arose from all sides, then as the intimate friend for life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) provided Him solace.

 

At the time of her marriage, she was 40 years old and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was 25 years old.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) did not marry anybody else as long as she was alive.

Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her) bid goodbye to this world 10 years after the declaration of Prophethood and her blessed grave is in Jannatul Mualla in Makkah
