The virtuous wives of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

Hadhrat Khadijah (May Allah be well pleased with her):

 

She is the first wife of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  She has a special status among all the wives of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  She is the first among women to embrace Islam.  After the declaration, when the fires of opposition were raging all over, she was the one who comforted and consoled the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

 

There are many Hadith, which describe the superiority and excellence of Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her).

 

Imam Tabarani has quoted a Hadith on the authority of Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) fed her a date from Jannah in this world. 

 

It is given in Sahih Bukhari that Hadhrat Jibrail (peace be upon him) came to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and said:  Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her) is coming with a utensil with food.  When she comes, give her the “Salaam” of Allah Ta’ala and mine as well.  Also give her the glad tiding there is a palace of pearl in Jannah for her, in which there will be no noise and no difficulty.  There is a Hadith in Zurqani:

 

Hadhrat Khadija, Hadhrat Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with them) Hadhrat Maryam and Hadhrat Asiya (peace be upon them) are the most superior of all the women of Jannah.  After her demise, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would mention her in a pleasant manner.  Whenever He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would slaughter a goat, He would definitely send it to her friends as well.  (Jame’ Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, Pg. No. 22)

 

She passed away in the 10^th year of Prophethood and her blessed grave is in Jannatul Mu’alla in Makkah. 

 

Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her):

 

She is the daughter of Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (May Allah be well pleased with him). Her mother's name was Umme Rumaan (May Allah be well pleased with her).  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) married her 3 years before Hijrah.  She came to live with Him in 1^st Hijri.  At that time, her age was 9 years.  At the time of the demise of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), her age was 18 years.

 

She passed away on Tuesday 7^th Ramadhan 58 Hijri.  Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) led her Salaat Ul Janazah and she is buried in Jannatul Baqee’.  Except her, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) did not marry any unmarried woman.  She has much superiority and excellence.  Among them is that she would be on the bed of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and Wahi i.e. the divine revelation would come even in that state.  Almost 2210 Hadith are narrated on her authority.  Wahi has come to exonerate her and to establish her chastity.
