The Holy Prophet's (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) visits to Syria

The first visit to Syria and Buhaira, the hermit:

As was customary then, when Hadhrat Abu Talib decided to go to Syria along with the Quraish for business, he took the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) along with him, as he loved Him very much.  At this time, the age of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was 12 years, 2 months and 10 days.  When the caravan reached Basra, there a hermit by name Buhaira recognized the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) the moment he saw Him, as he had read in the previous heavenly books the attributes of the Last Prophet and the signs of His Prophethood.  Buhaira held the blessed hands of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and told the Quraish:  He is the leader of the heavens and earths.  He is the Prophet of the Lord of the Worlds and His greatness is "Mercy for the whole universe".  The Quraish asked him:  How do you know all this?  Buhaira replied:  When you were ascending the valley, there was no tree or stone that did not prostrate to Him, at the time of heat, a cloudlet always covered Him and He has the Seal of Prophethood between both His shoulders.  With great devotion and respect, Buhaira arranged a feast for the sake of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

 

Later, he asked:  By Allah!  Tell me who is His guardian?  He got the reply Hadhrat Abu Talib.  Buhaira told Hadhrat Abu Talib:  Take your nephew back to Makkah and sell away your merchandise here itself, as the Jews are His diehard enemies.  There is a danger that they might martyr Him.  Hence, Hadhrat Abu Talib returned to Makkah along with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  (Jame’ Tirmidhi, Vol. 1, Pg. The second visit to Syria:

 

 

Second time, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) went to Syria with the merchandise of Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her) along with her slave Maisarah.  The blessed habit of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was to never cheat other nor quarrel.  Because of His own divine stature, there would increase by leaps and bounds.  During this journey, Maisarah saw some strange occurrences.  When the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would step into the sun at noon, angels would shade Him.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) reached Syria and rested under a tree near a church.  A hermit there asked Maisarah: Who is this?  Under this tree, the Last and Final Prophet would rest.  On returning, Maisarah narrated the shading of angels and the talk of the hermit to Hadhrat Khadjia (May Allah be well pleased with her).  go for business during the sunshine, angels covered as a shadow upon the Holy Prophet. 

 

 

 

 

Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her) was a wise and dignified lady.  She described all this to her paternal cousin, Warqa.  Healso said that He is our leader and the Last Prophet and recited some couplets, some of which are:

 

1.   Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) will be our leader ………………………

 

2.  The light of this Noor will spread in the whole world, which will save the creation from misguidance and make them walk on the right path.
