Due to the relationship with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), Allah Ta’ala has granted this Ummah superiority and excellence. Through the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), Allah Ta’ala has granted us a most comprehensive and perfect Shariah. The Shariah does not leave us unguided about even a single aspect of life. The Muslim nation is one of eminence, which leads its life with a mission in sight. It is the leader of all nations. It does not accept and acquire wrong customs, archaic traditions and indecent culture.
Free mixing of men and women in the name of welcoming the New Year, drinking wine, watching films and organizing gatherings of singing and dancing, dancing in nightclubs, etc. is all unislamic and indecent.
These are the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri, Associate Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia and Founder/Director Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center who was speaking at Masjid Abul Hasanaat, Jahanuma, Hyderabad at the weekly lecture held under the auspices of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center.
Mufti Sahab said that the moments of life are invaluable and worthwhile. We should consider the remaining hours of our life to be a respite. We should not spend them in worthless tasks and useless deeds, but we should spend them in the obedience of Allah Ta’ala and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Human beings realize the worth of each moment of life when they are passing away from this world, but the regret of that time will prove useless. Allah Ta’ala says:
Until when death comes to anyone of them, (then) he will say: ‘O my Lord, send me back (to the world), 100. So that I may do some righteous works in that (world) which I have left behind.’ No way! He will be saying this (only in despair). And ahead of them is a barrier (erected) till the Day (when) they will be raised up (from the graves). Surah Mominoon (23:99)
Mufti Sahab said that the moments spent in heedlessness of Allah Ta’ala will be regretted even on entering Jannah. Allah Ta’ala says:
(Allah will) say: ‘Stay on therein with disgrace and do not speak to Me. Surah Mominoon (23:108)
Especially on the starting of a new year, we should analyze our lives. This is not the time to spend in play and fun, but to analyze our past and present and a time to plan for our glorious future. We should look closely at how we have fulfilled the rights of Allah Ta’ala and the rights of our fellow human beings. We should appreciate these moments of life. We should spend our youth in the worship of Allah Ta’ala. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
Translation of Hadith: The feet of human beings will not budge until they have been questioned about 4 things, life, where it has been spent, knowledge, how much it has been put into practice, money, how it has been earned and how it has been spent and the body that where have its energies been spent. (Kanz Ul Ummal, Hadith No. 38983)
