The Holy Quran is a shining example of the power of Allah Ta’ala and is a living miracle of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Allah Ta’ala Himself has taken up the responsibility of protecting this divine code of life, so this eloquent Word will remain shining with all its brilliance until the Qiyamah and it will keep dispelling the darkness of irreligiousness and ignorance and bringing forth its radiance.
After revealing other divine books, Allah Ta’ala did not take up the responsibility of protecting and this responsibility was given to the scholars of those Ummah, as given in Surah Maida:
Indeed, We revealed the Torah wherein was guidance and light. In accordance with that the Messengers who were the obedient (servants of Allah) used to give orders to the Jews. And the divines (i.e. their spiritual masters) and the rabbis (also judged in accordance with that) because they were assigned to safeguard the Book of Allah and they were the guardians of (and witness to) it. So do not fear people (in establishing Din [Religion] and enforcing Allah’s Commandments), and always fear Me (alone), and do not barter My Signs (Commands) for a paltry price (of this world). And he who does not judge (and rule) according to the Injunctions sent down by Allah, it is they who are disbelievers. Surah Maida (5:44)
However, the Holy Quran was revealed to the Last and Final Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and its rules and regulations are to remain till the very end of time, that is why Allah Ta’ala has Himself taken up the responsibility of its protection. As given in Surah Hijr:
Assuredly We alone have revealed this Glorious Admonition (the Qur’an), and surely We alone will guard it. Surah Hijr (15:9)
These are the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri, Associate Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia, Founder/Director, Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center, in the weekly lecture at Masjid Abul Hasanaat, Jahanuma on September 19, 2010, which is organized under the auspices of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center.
Mufti Sahab described the various aspects of the inimitability of the Holy Quran. He said that with regard to its revelation also, the Holy Quran is distinguished from other divine books. Hadhrat Moosa (Peace be upon him) was given Talmud in written form and the Holy Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) on His blessed heart.
The verses of the Holy Quran have oceans of secrets and truths (Haqaaiq) in them. This is the reason that even though the interpretations (Tafseer) of the Holy Quran have been written in many languages, but the complete interpretation of even 1 verse has not been written.
Because of this, the poets, scholars, litterateurs and scientists are unable to offer even a single verse like the Holy Quran.
The session ended with Salaam and Dua. Maulana Syed Ahmed Ghouri, teacher, Jamia Nizamia, led the session. Many laymen, scholars, students, etc. attended the lecture.
