Questions about Salaat with Jamaat-1

It is always the best practice to join the congregational Salaat from the Takbeer Tahrima i.e. the first Takbeer

The excellence of joining the Salaat with the Takbeer Tahrima is mentioned in the Hadith:

Translation of Hadith: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Anas Bin Malik (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: 2 things are written for the person who offers Salaat for the sake of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) for 40 days with the Takbeer Tahrima: 1) Safety from Hell. 2) Freedom from hypocrisy.

It is Afdhal to say the Takbeer along with the Imam.  If somebody joins the Salaat before the Imam goes into the Ruku, even then the excellence of Takbeer Tahrima is acquired.  Here, the Fuqaha (Islamic Law Experts) have clarified that whoever joins the Salaat in the 1st Raka’at (i.e. before or in Ruku) gets the excellence of the 1st Takbeer.  As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol. 1, Pg No: 69:

Translation: About acquiring the excellence of Takbeer Tahrima, the correct opinion is that whoever gets the 1st Raka’at, gets the excellence of Takbeer Tahrima.

However, it happens that one may join the Salaat late, i.e. 1 or 2 Raka’at after the congregational Salaat has started.

When to recite the Sana on joining late:

It is a Sunnah to recite the Sana after the first Takbeer (Takbeer Tahrima).  If a person misses a Raka’at and joins the Salaat in the later Raka’at, then that person should not recite the Sana then, but should recite it when he is offering the lost Raka’at after the Imam ends his Salaat.

If one joins the Salaat when the Imam is in a Ruku or Sajdah, then if one has the time to join the Ruku or Sajdah even after reciting the Sana, then one may recite it or else recite it in the lost Raka’at.

You can recite Sana as per the given details.

As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol. 1, Kitab Us Salaat.
