Khutba Milad in historical Mecca Masjid   Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam Imam Muhammad Anwarullah Farooqui (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) has written that in his stay in the Holy cities of Mecca and Madina, he saw the arrangements made to celebrate the Milad of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). When he migrated to Deccan on the command of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), he got a royal decree passed that on the Milad of the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), a Khutba should be given in the historical Mecca Masjid. Reviving this forgotten practice, Misbah Ul Qurra Hadhrat Maulana Abdullah Quraishi Al Azhari gave a khutba in Arabic and after the Khutba, Maulana Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri gave a speech. He explained how the Holy Quran gives rules and guidelines for every aspect of life. For example, the Holy Quran explains the responsibilities of the husband in the following words: But consort with them in kindness. Surah Nisa (4:19) In the same way the Holy Quran has mentioned the superiority, excellence and the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) . Through this principle, a rule can be derived that the mention of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) , His superiority and excellence is recommended at all times and on all occasions. Mufti sahib recited the following verse of the Holy Quran: O People of the Book! there hath come to you Our Messenger, revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book, and passing over much (that is now unnecessary): there hath come to you from Allah a (new) Light and a perspicuous Book.― Surah Maida (5:15) He explained how the Milad of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is mentioned first and then His Seerah. He explained that according to the style of the Holy Quran, to follow the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) , mention and remembrance of His Milad is compulsory. He explained that all the books of Seerah mention the Milad of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) . If the Sahabah had not related to each other the Milad of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) , then how these Hadith and Traditions could have reached us? He elucidated how the indifference of the Ummah towards the teachings of Islam, had led to the downfall of the Ummah in every sphere of life. To light the lamp of love in the hearts of the Ummah, which would lead to sincere following of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) , the sagacious Elite of the Ummah, in the light of the Holy Quran and Hadith, declared the conducting of speeches and conferences like this to be a commendable (Mustahsan) act, worthy of divine reward. In the month of the Milad of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), Muslims should ready themselves to follow the commands and the Sunnah of our Benevolent Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) .
