Islam is a religion of peace. Every person who lives in the shade of Islam is an envoy of peace. With their talk, actions, with their effort and rest, all Muslims give the message of peace. Muslims put up with the torture and oppression of the non-Muslims of Macca for 13 years. In this period, safety which is the basic right of every human being was snatched away from them, but through their talk and actions, Muslims gave only the message of peace. These are the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri, Naib Shaykh Ul FIqh, Jamia Nizamia, in his Friday address.
Mufti Sahab said that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: A Momin is that person from whom the others are at peace about their lives and properties. (Musnad Imam Ahmed, Hadith No: 8575).
He also said that the history of India is a witness to the fact that for centuries, Islamic rule was followed here, but there was no discrimination of any kind about the rights of the people. All people without any discrimination of race, creed or such were given the basic human rights.
In the Islamic kingdom, all non-Muslims were given the basic human rights, which were given to Muslims. There was no discrimination in this. They had the right of religious freedom, social freedom and economic freedom. The Islamic rulers maintained peace in the society. When our master, The Emperor of India, Hadhrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti, Ghareeb Nawaz (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him) came to India, he did not bring with him great armies or deadly weapons, but he came with the boundless oceans of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah and he turned the whole society into a garden of peace with his sweet words and his shining character. Because of his message of peace, security and sincerity, millions of non-Muslims embraced Islam and started living their lives in the peaceful shade of Islam. It is very condemnable that some sectarian interests are trying to rip apart the fabric of inter-religious unity. It is our responsibility that we should maintain the atmosphere of peace and should not give in to such inflammatory tactics.
