The wife should obey the husband
It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was seated along a group of the Emigrants and the natives of Madina. A camel came and prostrated to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).
The Companions said: O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)! Animals and trees prostrate to you. We are more deserving of this.
On this, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Prostration is worship. You should worship only your Lord and you should respect your brother. If I would have given anyone permission to prostrate, I would have ordered women to prostrate to their husbands. (the status of the husband is such) If the husband orders the wife to take a stone from this mountain to that and from that mountain to another one, even then the wife should obey him.
This is related by Imam Ahmed.
If the wife troubles the husband, the damsels of paradise curse her
It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Mua’adh bin Jabal (May Allah be well pleased with him), he relates from the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) that when a wife troubles her husband in this world, then the beautiful-eyed damsel of paradise, who will become his wife, remarks: May Allah destroy you! You don’t trouble him. He is with you as a guest (for some time). Very soon, he will leave you and come to us (in paradise).
We learn from this that those who live in the spiritual realms are aware of our deeds.
This is related by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.
Those 3 people whose Salaat is not accepted
It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: There are 3 persons whose Salaat is not accepted and none of their good deeds ascends to the heavens: A runaway slave until he returns to his masters and places his hands in theirs (i.e. becomes obedient).
The woman whose husband is displeased with her
A person who uses intoxicants until that person comes out of his intoxication (and repents before Allah Most High)
This is related by Baihaqui in Shu’abul Imaan.
Inciting a wife against her husband is wrong
It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: The person who incites a wife against her husband or a slave against his master is not from us (i.e. is not among those who follow Me). This is related by Abu Dawood.
