The Holy Quran - The book of guidance and admonition

Allah Most High has made the Holy Quran the fount of guidance for all humanity.  The verses of the Holy Quran are treasures of guidance and subtleties.  The Holy Quran has comprehensive rules and principles for all ups and down of life, reformation and improvement of beliefs and deeds, social affairs, manners and etiquette.

Allah Most High has introduced the Holy Quran by highlighting its various aspects.  At one place, it is called the “book of admonition,” at another place as “absolute healing and mercy.”  The Holy Quran says:

O mankind! Surely, there has come to you an admonition from your Lord, and a cure for all those (diseases) which are (hidden) in the breasts. And it is guidance and mercy (too) for those who are blessed with faith.  Surah Younus (10:57)

These are the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi, Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia, Founder-Director, Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center, in the weekly lecture conducted under the aegis of AHIRC in Masjid Abul Hasanaat.

The revered Mufti pointed out that at various places, the Holy Quran exhorts humans to seek advice from it, it has been made easy to seek admonition from it.  Allah Most High says:

And indeed, We have made the Qur’an easy for direction and guidance, but is there anyone who will take advice?  Surah Qamar (54:17)

Allah Most High revealed the Holy Quran on the blessed heart of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and handed over the explanation and clarification of its verses to Him.  The Lord Almighty gave Him the command to explain the Holy Quran and the right to formulate rules.  That’s why the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the exegete of the Holy Quran and the lawmaker of the Shariah as well.  Almighty Allah says in Surah Nahl:

And, (O Glorious Messenger,) We have revealed to you the Glorious Reminder (the Qur’an) so that you may explain clearly to people (the message and the commandments) that have been sent down to them and that they may meditate.  Surah Nahl (16:44)

The Holy Quran is the boundless ocean of guidance.  It should be read with understanding and one should seek admonition and guidance from the Words of the Lord Almighty.  At the same time, we should also put its rules into practice and fulfill their demands.

After the lecture, there was a session of Dhikr and Sulook.  The whole session ended with a special Dua by the revered Mufti.
