Is cheating in exams allowed

Is cheating in exams allowed

The reason behind organizing exams for the students of the schools, colleges, etc. is that they study the required syllabus and develop the requisite capability and erudition in the particular subject with their efforts.  In this way, their educational standards are raised.  Usually, in the form of the examination form, etc. the students are made to promise that they will follow the prescribed rules and regulations for the exam.  Cheating in the exam in spite of all this is deceiving others.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

Translation: Whoever deceives is not of us.

There is a Hadith in Musnad Iman Ahmed bin Hambal:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Anas (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says:  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would usually tell us in every sermon of His:  There is no faith in the person who is not trustworthy and there is no religion in that person who does not keep a promise.  (Musnad Iman Ahmed bin Hambal, Hadith No.  11935)

The word exam itself means to test and by cheating, this test does not remain a test.  This is very harmful for the education of the students.  In this age, Muslims should pay much more attention to education.  Muslims students should demonstrate their high aims and progress in the field of education.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
