Working as an actor or director to promote ethical values and reform society

Your objective is very nice that you want to reform the society.  You want to show the path of guidance to those young guys and girls who have stepped on the wrong paths.  Your concern and your objective are really appreciable.

However, directing films or acting in films to achieve this objective is not correct.  As in this industry, the work of the actor is far from reality and is based on lies and deception.

Thus, you should avoid working as an actor or a director.  Instead of this, you may promote Islamic audio/video CDs among the guys and girls who are habituated to watching films so that they may save themselves from sin and gain Islamic knowledge at the same time.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
