Hadhrat Abul Barakaat Syed Khaleelullah Shah Sahab Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) is the eldest son and the first successor of Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).

 

He is a descendent of Hadhrat 'Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him) through 46 generations.

 

As Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was born in a scholarly and spiritual household and was brought up in the lap of a great saint like Hadhrat Muhaddith-e-Deccan, he himself became a master of normative and spiritual sciences, an epitome of good manners and an embodiment of Shariah and Tariqah.

 

After his introductory education, Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) got his education from Jamia Nizamia.  Then he graduated from Punjab University.  He had absolute mastery over Persian and Urdu.

 

After the demise of Hadhrat Muhaddith-e-Deccan (May Allah shower His Mercy on him), he took up and fulfilled the responsibility of guiding the Ummah and the community.

 

He benefited the creation of Allah Most High for 28 years after the demise of Hadhrat Muhaddith-e-Deccan (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  Thousands of people benefited through him.  A great number of his disciples are present in foreign countries as well.  Many scholars and Hafidh of the Holy Quran took him as their spiritual mentor (Murshid).

 

Hadhrat Abul Barakaat was a person of great character. He was humble, magnanimous, silent and followed the Shariah to the letter.

 

Only to see him and be in his presence, people would travel from far off places.

 

Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was very softhearted and generous.  He would help the needy, take care of the destitute and would grant others, both in terms of physical wealth and spiritual wealth.

 

The shower of his generosity would be going on all the time, but no one would know how much he gave to whom.

 

Some miracles of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him)

 

A certain person had gone to Sirhind on the occasion of the ‘Urs of Hadhrat Imam Rabbaani (May Allah sanctify his secret).  Due to the multitude of people there, he unknowingly slept on a snake hole.  At night, he was awakened by someone who was standing there at his head, as if guarding him.  He could not recognize this person due to the darkness.  The ‘Urs ended and he returned to Hyderabad.  He did not think much of this incident and did not discuss this with any one.

 

Some time later, he was in the presence of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) and they were talking about Sirhind.  Suddenly, Hadhrat Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) turned to him and said:   Relate the incident which happened when you slept on that snake hole!

 

Then he realized that the person who was there watching over him was none other than Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).

 

A certain person lived in a Warangal.  He had a great desire to become a disciple of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  He fell ill and was confined to the bed.   He asked his sons to go to Hyderabad, request Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) to come and enter him into the Naqshbandi and Qadri orders of Tasawwuf.

 

The dutiful sons took a car and come to the door of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  They described to him the condition of their father and requested the Shaykh to come along with them.  Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) assented to their request and asked for his turban to be brought to him.  He wore his turban, waited a moment, then removed it and told the young men to go home.   They returned home.

 

They went to their father and told him that they couldn’t bring Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) along with them.  Their father stared at them with astonishment and said: What are you talking about?  Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) came here himself and entered me into his discipleship!   The sons asked him at what time Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) had come.  The father told them the time.  It was the same time when Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) had worn the turban and removed it.

 

A disciple was going for Hajj and came to the house of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) to pay his respects and seek his blessings. Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was resting and Hadhrat Abul Khairaat Anwaarullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) received the disciple.  While talking to him, Hadhrat Abul Khairaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) started thinking about when he himself would go for Hajj.  The next moment, Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) entered the room and asked the disciple:  What are the expenses to go for Hajj?  The disciple said:  Three Thousand Rupees. Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) gave him the money and ordered him to make arrangements for Hadhrat Abul Khairaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) to go for Hajj.

 

After his passing away, many people said that they didn’t feel as orphaned even after the passing away of their parents, as Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) would take such care of us that all our needs would be fulfilled, but today after the passing away of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him), we feel totally orphaned.

 

His progeny

 

Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) has 3 sons:

 

1.  Hadhrat Abul Khairaat Syed Anwarullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).

 

2.  Hadhrat Syed Sanaullah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).

 

3.  Hadhrat Abul Faiz Syed Ataullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah protect him).

 

Hadhrat Abul Barakaat passed away on 8 Jamadi Ul Ula, 1413 Hijri, November 3, 1992.
