The Mawlid of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)
Now the time of the coming of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was very close. Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says that at the dawn of the 12th, she started having labor pains and saw that a white cock was caressing her stomach with its wing.
At that time I was made to drink a white sherbet.
Between the heavens and the earth, white cloths, like flags, were hung. There were many folk between the heavens and the earth who had enameled silver pitchers and many birds had covered my house. Their beaks were of emerald and their wings were of rubies.
I had a divine vision, I felt as if all veils were removed from my eyes and I can see from the east to the west.
I also saw that 3 flags had been fixed. One in the east, one in the west and one on the Ka’aba.
Many tall women gathered at my house. Among them were Aasiya and Maryam.
Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) also says that at the time of labor pains, angels like human beings were standing with aiguières with Kauthar and Salsabeel in their hands waiting to bathe the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).
Thus, the whole world was waiting for the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to come.
The whole world was counting each moment.
Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says: My labor pains intensified. After this the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) graced the world with His presence.
Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says: He was born prostrating with His index finger raise. I went closer and listened and He was saying: Ummati! Ummati! (My followers, My followers)
The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has the same kind of love for His Ummah that Hadhrat Yaqoob (May peace be upon him) had for Hadhrat Yousuf (May peace be upon him). That’s why, immediately after His birth, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Ummati! Ummati!.
Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) also says that when the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) arrived prostrating, He was saying eloquently: La Ilaha Illallah Innee Rasool Allah.
When Hadhrat ‘Eisa (May peace be upon him) was born, he also said: Innee ‘Abdullah and acknowledged the lordship of Almighty Allah. By saying: Wa Ausanee Bis Salaat, he spoke of the excellence of Salaat.
The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) performed the prostration and actually showed Salaat to the people.
These 2 things remembrance of Allah and Salaat were most beloved to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). It is binding on the Ummah to hold dear the actions/deeds performed by the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). These 2 deeds, Salaat and remembrance of Allah have the quality that they take one to Almighty Allah. They let one attain the vision of Allah.
In infancy, when no one can talk, 2 Prophets talked. One is Hadhrat ‘Eisa (May peace be upon him) and he talked to exonerate his mother from the slander of adultery. The second was our Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). He spoke in His infancy to exonerate Allah from the slander of having partners that the disbelievers were leveling against Him.
Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says:
I heard someone say:
Give a tour of the whole world to Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Let all the souls see Him. Let all genie, humans, angels, birds, animals, in short, let everyone see so that the whole world knows that He is the Prophet for the whole world.
Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says that I also heard someone say:
Give to Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) all those attributes which were granted to all other Prophets. Give Him the manners of Hadhrat Adam (May peace be all been combined in your person O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)! All the qualities and attributes that were various Prophets have all been combined in your person O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)!
Hadhrat ‘Abdul Muttalib says: The night when the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was born, I was near the Ka’aba. At midnight, I was surprised to see that the Ka’aba had tilted and it seemed as if it was prostrating. At that time, a voice issued from the Ka’aba:
Allahu Abar, Allahu Akbar Rabba Muhammadin Mustafa. Al Aan Tahhirnee Rabbee Min Injaasil Asnami Wa Arjasil Mushrikeen.
First the Ka’aba said: Allahu Akbar (Allah is great) twice. Then it said that Almighty Allah is the Lord of Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and that Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has been born. With His birth, the time has come when my Lord will clean me of the filth of idols and the impure beliefs of the polytheists.
After this, this voice was also heard: By the Lord of the Ka’aba! Almighty Allah has accepted the Ka’aba to be the direction in which Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) will pray and has made it the place where He will stay as well.
