Hadhrat Khaja Ghareebnawaz – Beacon of guidance
(May Allah shower His Mercy on him)
Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi addresses Ghareebnawaz Conference
The 11th Ghareebnawaz Conference was held at Masjid Abul Hasanaat under the aegis of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center. Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi presided over the session.
The revered Mufti said in his address that love and attachment with the saints is a means of success and deliverance. When some pious person is loved for the sake of Allah Most High, then Allah Most High resurrects that person with the one whom he/she loved. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: When 2 persons love each other for the sake of Allah Most High, though one of them may be the east and the other in the west, Allah Most High will surely gather them and say: This is the person who you loved for My sake. (Shu’abul Imaan, Hadith No. 8732)
When we hear about the lives of the pious folk and the saints, their greatness and love takes root in our hearts. This love is a great driving force that makes us follow the footsteps of the saints. The revered Mufti said that the life of the Khaja, Moinuddin Hasan Chishti is a great example of adhering to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Developing awareness about the life of the Khaja and following his teachings is the need of the hour.
Helping the poor and the needy and succoring the helpless was a distinguishing aspect of his life. He would not only fulfill the material needs of others, but would also bestow spiritual secrets on the Gnostics. A great saint and Gnostic like Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Thaani Hadhrat Shaykh Ahmed Sirhindi (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) also paid his respects to the Khaja and drew blessings from him.
The revered Mufti said that the life of the Khaja is a beacon of guidance for one and all. The Khaja had such love for the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) that he would be moved whenever the blessed name of the Prophet would be mentioned. He would exhort his disciples and those attached to him to follow the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and say: If one is shamed before the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), then where else can one get refuge?
The Khaja is a beacon of guidance. His teachings are all fragrant with the fragrance of the Holy Quran and the Hadith. The Khaja says: Along with fulfillment of the Obligatory duties (Faraaidh), recitation of the Holy Quran, the circumambulation of the Ka’aba, obedience to the parents and serving the Shaykh all help the seeker in spiritual advancement.
The revered Mufti said that many miracles were expressed at the hands of the Khaja. Once, somebody demanded his disciple to pay back a loan. The Khaja told that person: This man doesn’t have the means to pay back your loan. Give him some time. However, the lender persisted in his demand. The Khaja took off his cloak and spread it on the ground. Immediately money appeared on the cloak. The Khaja asked that man to take the amount due to him. That man tried to take more than what was owed to him. Immediately, his hand became paralyzed. When that man repented and sought the forgiveness of the Khaja, the Khaja supplicated for him and his hand was cured.
Mufti Syed Wahed Ali Qadri, Teacher, Jamia Nizamia, said that the Khaja has bestowed great favors on the Ummah, especially on the Muslims of the subcontinent. It was with the efforts of the Khaja that Islam spread far and wide in the country. The Khaja didn’t propagate Islam with swords and scythes, but only with his character and high morals. In a single journey from Ajmer to Delhi, the Khaja turned 9 million non-Muslims to Islam. Maulana Hafidh Syed Ahmed Ghouri, Teacher, Jamia Nizamia, said that the Khaja is not only a great master of spirituality but is also a master of the normative sciences. Erudite scholars from the subcontinent and abroad learnt from him. The jurisprudents would seek the Khaja’s opinion in complicated issues and get gratifying answers.
Hafidh Muhammad Khan Naqshbandi presented poetry in honor of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and the Khaja. The session ended with Salaam and Dua.
