Men’s issues
[Many men have doubts or are just plainly wrong about some specific men’s issues. Here, we present a distillation of these Shariah rulings. Do read and share with others]
Semen is that white and thick fluid which comes out when one is sexually aroused. Madhi is that white and runny fluid that is secreted when one is sexually aroused and with those specific motions. Wadi is that thick fluid which is normally secreted after urination.
Semen makes a bath Compulsory (Wajib). Madhi and Wadi invalidate the ablution (Wudhu).
When semen leaves the body with desire, then full ritual bath (ghusl) becomes Obligatory (Fardh). When faced with such a situation, a bath should be taken immediately. Offering Salaat, touching or reciting the Holy Quran and entering a mosque are all not allowed. The Salaat which is offered in this unclean state is not valid at all. Offering Salaat in this state is Forbidden (Haraam).
Shariah ruling for those suffering from urine leakage
Some people suffer from urine leakage. They naturally have doubts about their purity.
There can be 2 cases if a person has leakage after relieving himself. Either it can be the leakage which comes after urine (Wadi) and most of the times it is just that. This only invalidates the ablution (Wudhu) and does not make a bath Compulsory. Making a new ablution is enough. As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol 1, Pg No: 9,10.
If the leakage is semen, then a full bath becomes Compulsory (Wajib) only when semen is secreted with desire and it “jumps out.” If the person does not have any desire at the time of ejaculation, then according to the Hanafi school of Fiqh, a bath does not become Compulsory (Wajib).
For example, somebody lifts a heavy weight and ejaculates. A bath does not become compulsory. As given in Bada’i Us Sana’i, Vol 1, Pg No: 148.
If any person leaks semen when relieving and there was any desire and lust at that time, then a full bath will become Compulsory (Wajib) and if there is no desire, then the bath will not become Compulsory, regardless of whether the quantity of semen is less or more.
The person suffering from leakage should wait after urination until the remaining droplets also come out. During this time, one should cough or clear one’s throat. When one feels that there is no more danger of leakage, then one may perform ablution (Wudhu).
Giving Semen for testing purposes
Giving semen for testing is not allowed as per the Shariah. There are many drawbacks of it. Semen is also wasted. To develop desire, all other ways excepting relations between the husband and wife are impermissible, regardless of whether it is through indecent images or through masturbation. It is compulsory to avoid it. If there is no other way apart from it, then please send the details and we will answer it.
