The eldest son of Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah shower His mercy on him), Hadhrat Abul Barakaat Syed Khaleeullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His mercy on him) has mentioned some valuable advice which his illustrious father gave. Observing and following them will enable one to acquire the eternal blessings of the two Holy Cities.
These invaluable words are mentioned in the words of Hadhrat Abul Barakaat (May Allah shower His mercy on him) himself:
“Here I deem it necessary to mention those things, which my father (May Allah shower His mercy on him) would usually mention to any person who aspired to go for Haj, so that that person would follow this advice and make the journey a success.
The first thing which he would mention was: Listen son! This journey of Haj requires a lot of patience. In this journey, there will be occasions when some people try to overtake one another and try to give preference to their comfort over others. Be careful! Don’t ever start being impatient and restless there. No matter how unbearable the situation, forgive others and remember the words of Allah:
For Hajj are the months well known. If anyone undertakes that duty therein let there be no obscenity nor wickedness nor wrangling in the Hajj. And whatever good ye do (be sure) Allah knoweth it. And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best of provisions is right conduct. So fear Me, O ye that are wise! Surah Baqarah (2:197)
The second thing he would say is: Listen son! Some forms of worship are particular for that place, which cannot be performed at other places. Thus, as long as you are in Makkah, try to perform as much Tawaaf of Ka’aba as you can. This bounty of Allah cannot be found at any other place in the world. In the same way, ‘Umrah is also a bounty of Allah which cannot be found anywhere else. Perform as many ‘Umrah as possible on behalf of your parents and other relatives, etc. Keep this mind that one virtue performed here is equal to 100,000 virtues, but don’t forget that for sins also the punishment is similarly severe.
He would say about Zam Zam: This is such a thing we ourselves have it and we ourselves earn the reward of it. The special characteristic of Zam Zam is that the intention with which you drink it is fulfilled. At the same time, this is a cure for diseases, a means of getting our supplications accepted and food for the hungry. As long as you are there, drink as much Zam Zam as you can and supplicate using it.
About the prayers and worship of the 2 Holy Cities, Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah shower His mercy on him) would say: “Hizb Azam” is such a collection of Dua that all the Masnoon (established by the Sunnah) supplications are in it. It is really good if you finish it at least once there.
When my father (May Allah shower His mercy on him) went for Haj, he also went to the
Hadhrat would break into tears when he would instruct the visitor to Madina about the special manners and etiquette of Madina. He would say with a lot of emphasis: Listen son! Madina is like the court of living, breathing king.
You should be sure that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) immediately knows whatever you say and/or do. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is alive as He was in His worldly life.
While explaining this, he would often relate the incident of a person, who told his friend that everything in Madina is good, but the curd here is a bit smelly. The same night, he saw the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) in his dream who said: If you don’t like the curd of my city, then why do you stay here?
After relating this incident, Hadhrat would instruct that while staying there, one should be very careful about one’s words and actions. Be careful! Don’t hurt anyone there.
Even craziness will pass before Allah
But be careful before Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)
In the end, he would also advise the visitors to Madina that in Madina, they should recite Durud profusely and should also finish Dalail Khairaat once, which is an accepted collection of Durud.
The reason for relating all this is that the Hajis make their stay in the 2 Holy Cities a meaningful one and return with an accepted Haj and an acknowledged Ziyarah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).
