A clear proof of the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

Being a Prophet or a saint is a wealth which the common folk cannot see.  That’s why Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran:

Is it amazing for the people that We sent down Revelation to a (perfect) man from amongst themselves: ‘Warn (the disoriented and distracted) people (of Allah’s torment), and give glad tidings to the believers that there is high rank (i.e., exalted status) for them in the presence of their Lord’? The disbelievers said: ‘Indeed, this person is an evident magician.’  Surah Younus (2:10)

Astonishment is being expressed at a human being being made a Prophet.  What about making idols of stones and metals as gods?  No astonishment for that?

It is mentioned in the Holy Quran:

And they said: ‘Why has this Qur’an not been sent down upon some high-ranking personage (i.e., some chief, landlord, or the affluent) of the two towns (Mecca and Ta’if)?’  Surah Zukhruf (31:43)

Details about the life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) lived with Hadhrat Abu Talib.  Hadhrat Abu Talib himself couldn’t get enough to eat.  He had seen this for himself a number of times that when the members of the household ate along with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), all of them would be satiated.  If they would eat without the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, they would still remain hungry.  That’s why, Hadhrat Abu Talib would always eat along with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  If He wasn’t present, he would search and get Him so that through His blessings, everyone’s hunger would be appeased.

Of course, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) had was the best of all with regard to lineage.  Though, lineage and family don’t play any role in Prophethood itself, but following a man of high lineage isn’t considered an insult by anyone else.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) had this but had no other worldly ease.  For this reason, the elite of Makkah would say:

Is it amazing for the people that We sent down Revelation to a (perfect) man from amongst themselves ..

Are people astonished that We have sent divine revelations to someone from among themselves

We are revealing the Holy Quran to one among them who is not wealthy.  Are they astonished at this?  O ungrateful humans!  Very nicely are you valuing our bounties!  Very finely are you thanking us!  It is our compassion that we don’t always make wealthy ones the prophets.  If Prophets were always kings and wealthy folk, then obedience to them would be because of their power and wealth.  Truth would not be expressed with it and it wouldn’t prove that Islam is the (true) religion.

In spite of the fact that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) didn’t have any rule or empire, neither was he learned nor did he have any worldly accomplishment, suddenly powerful rulers and the highly accomplished people lowered their heads before Him.  This is a clear proof of the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)
