Hadhrat Zainab bint Ali (May Allah be well pleased with them) - (II)

[The first part of this article ran here.  This is the second and concluding part]

‘Allama Yousuf bin Isma’il Nabhani (May Allah shower His mercy on him) (Dec. 1350 Hijri) has related that the Kuniyah of Hadhrat Zainab (May Allah be well pleased with her) as Umme Kulthoom.  He has also related that she was earlier married to Hadhrat ‘Umar Farooq (May Allah be well pleased with him), the 2nd caliph of Islam.  Hadhrat ‘Umar (May Allah be well pleased with him) had fixed her dower as 40,000 Dirham.  She passed away after the martyrdom of Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) and was buried in “Rawiya,” a settlement near Damascus.  Later on that settlement became famous with her name.

A miracle of Hadhrat Zainab (May Allah be well pleased with her)

The great Sufi, A’arif Billah Hadhrat Abu Bakr Moosili (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says:  I visited the blessed grave of Hadhrat Zainab bint ‘Ali (May Allah be well pleased with them) along with many other people.  Out of respect, I didn’t enter the actual sanctorum.  I faced the sanctorum and stood there.  I had lowered my gaze.  I was sincerely expressing my humility.

Suddenly I saw a highly dignified lady.  She was so dignified that I dared not raise my gaze at her.

She said: Son!  My Allah increase your respect and propriety (of us).  Keep visiting my grandfather, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), other Companions and Hadhrat Umm Aiman (May Allah be well pleased with her).  Give glad tidings to the Ummah that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and the Companions and the Prophet’s Family (i.e. the Ahle Bait) and their progeny love them a lot.  However, those people who have swerved from the path of truth, they are under (divine) wrath.

Hadhrat Abu Bakr Moosili (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says:  These loving words of hers made my hair stand on end.  When I reverted to the world of senses, I didn’t find her.  After this, I visited her (blessed grave) regularly.  (Jame' Karaamaat Ul Auliya, Vol. 1, Pg No. 162)

Hadhrat Zainab and her son Hadhrat Zaid (May Allah be well pleased with them) passed away on the same day.  On the insistence of Hadhrat Hasan Muthanna (May Allah shower His mercy on him), Hadhrat ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar led the Funeral Salaat.  (Jame' Karaamaat Ul Auliya, Vol. 1, Pg No. 162)

May Allah bless us with the blessings and bounties of these virtuous people!  Aameen Bi Jaahil Sayyidil Mursaleen.
