Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam - A great gift for the Ummah

Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam Imam Muhammad Anwaarullah Farooqui (May Allah shower His mercy on him) is a great gift for the Muslims.  His books are a great treasure for the Ummah.  He used all available resources of his times for religious works.  He kept back nothing in this regard and reformed the community in every possible way.

These are the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri, Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia, Founder-Director, Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center in the weekly lecture held at Masjid Abul Hasanaat, Jahanuma, under the aegis of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center.

The revered Mufti said that the number of works authored by Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam is 40.  Apart from them, there are his manuscripts, selections from Futuhaat-e-Makkiya and selections from the 6 great books of Hadith.  They are present in the manuscript section of the library of Jamia Nizamia.

The revered Mufti said that Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam had written books on topics that were the need of the time.  Whenever any aspect of Islam was attacked in any way, Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam would refute it in that manner.

The Mufti mentioned 2 kinds of knowledge:  Acquired Knowledge and Esoteric Knowledge.  He said that Allah Most High had granted Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam both kinds of knowledge.  He acquired knowledge from his father, his teachers and by reading the books written by the elders.  Apart from this, he was granted the esoteric knowledge by Allah Most High, which isn’t dependent at all on human effort and is nothing but the grant of Allah.

In his 3-year stay at Madina, Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam authored his famous classic “Anwaar-e-Ahmadi.  Actually, he first wrote some couplets in praise of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and then wrote a commentary on them.  The result of this is before us with the name, “Anwaar-e-Ahmadi”.

The revered Mufti said that Hadhrat Shaykh Ul Islam shines like the sun in the cosmos of knowledge and gnosis.  His knowledge illuminated the whole of the sub-continent, especially the area of Deccan.  His company turned many people into scholars, Hadith-Experts, jurists and Sufis.

The session ended with Salaam and Dua.  Hafidh Syed Wahid Ali Qadri, Teacher, Jamia Nizamia, led the proceedings.
