The command of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is Allah's command

The status of the order of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) with Allah and the value of His words with the Lord Almighty can be understood with the following verse of Almighty Allah:

O believers! Whenever the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) calls you for some assignment that brings you (eternal) life, present yourselves (immediately), responding to Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) with submissiveness and obedience. And bear in mind that Allah intervenes between man and his heart (with a Glory of exclusive nearness), and that all of you will (ultimately) be gathered towards Him.  Surah Anfaal (8:24)

If My Beloved (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) gives you an order and summons you, then bow your head in assent and present yourselves to Him.  This is the thing that will lead to your success and this is what assures your success.  Because, when the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) calls you and gives you an order, it is not to trouble you, but in fact He grants you all that is good, gives you life and revives your hearts and grants them bliss.

The following incident is related in Sahih Bukhari in the exegesis of the aforementioned verse of the Holy Quran:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed bin M’ualla (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says:  I was offering Salaat.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) passed by me and summoned me.  I didn’t go to Him until I finished my Salaat.  After finishing my Salaat, I went to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  O Abu Sa’eed!  What stopped you from coming to me?  Didn’t Almighty Allah say:  If My Beloved (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) gives you an order and summons you, then bow your head in assent and present yourselves to Him…….

Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed (May Allah be well pleased with him) was offering Salaat and the by summoning him in that state, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) showed that obedience to Him is obedience to Allah Most High.

In the aforementioned verse of the Holy Quran, Allah Most High asks us to respond to the orders of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) although everyone can’t hear the command of Allah.  The intent of this is to only show the importance of the word and the command of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

Thus, there are many verses of the Holy Quran in which Almighty Allah has mentioned obedience to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) along with His own obedience.  At various places, Allah Most High has mentioned the benefits and blessings of this as well.
