Hadhrat Noor Muhammad Badayuni (May Allah shower His mercy on him)

Hadhrat Syed Us Sadaat Syed Noor Muhammad Badayuni (May Allah shower His mercy on him) is a great saint of the Naqshbandi order of Tasawwuf.

He is an erudite scholar of the normative, logical and spiritual sciences.  He acquired the Nisbah of Naqshbandiya Mujaddidiya from Hadhrat Shaykh Saifuddin (May Allah shower His mercy on him).  After this, he remained in the service of Hadhrat Shaykh Hafidh Muhsin (May Allah shower His mercy on him) for many years and gained blessings.  Then he remained in a state of fervor for 15 years, except at the times of Salaat.

He was distinguished from his contemporaries through his piety and his meticulous following of Sunnah.  He would always be reading books of Seerah and etiquette and would be searching for diverse Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Whatever Sunnah he would find, he would follow it regularly.  Once while entering the bathroom, by mistake he entered with his right foot.  This had a very deleterious effect on his spiritual state.  For 3 days, spiritual favors were withheld.  He supplicated and pleaded a lot.  After this, his spiritual state was changed.

He would be very particular about food as the income of the rich people is rarely free of doubt.  Thus, he never had anything which came from rich people.

Once some food came from a rich person.  Hadhrat Noor Badayuni (May Allah shower His mercy on him) said: The darkness of sin is visible in this.  Then he told Hadhrat Mirza Mazhar Jaanan Shaheed (May Allah shower His mercy on him):  Dear Mazhar! Look at this food.  How is it?  Hadhrat Mazhar (May Allah shower His mercy on him) cast his attention on it and said:  Hadhrat! The food has been earned through lawful means, but showing off has cast darkness in it.

Whenever he would borrow a book from a rich person, he would not read it for 3 days.  He would say: The darkness of the company of the rich has entered the book.  After 3 days, when his own company would make it radiant, then he would read it.

Piety and Sunnah had overwhelmed him to such an extent that for the whole life, 2 different curries were never placed together at his table.

He passed away on 11 Dhul Qa’ada 1135 Hijri.  May Allah keep his soul at peace and fill his grave with radiance and grant his blessings to us.
