The earth obeys the orders of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

There is a Hadith in Jame’ Tirmidhi:

Translation: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Sa‘eed Khudri (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Every Prophet has 2 viziers in the heavens and 2 from among those who are on earth.  My heavenly viziers are Jibreel and Mikail and those on the earth are Abu Bakr and ‘Umar.  (Jame’ Tirmidhi, Vol. 2, Pg. No. 209)

King of the heavens and the earth

Shaykh Ul Islam Hadhrat Imam Muhammad Anwarullah Farooqi (May Allah shower His mercy on him) founder of Jamia Nizamia writes in the interpretation of this Hadith:

Translation: When 2 greats from among the angels viz. Jibreel and Mikail are the viziers of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and there are 2 viziers on the earth, is there any hesitation in accepting that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the king of the heavens and the earth?  (Maqasid Ul Islam, Vol. 11, Pg. No. 15)

The earth is of Allah and His Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

There is a Hadith:

Translation: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him):  We were present in the Masjid that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) came and said:  Let’s go to the Jews.  We went along with Him.  We reached Bait Ul Midraar.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) told the Jews:  Embrace Islam, you will be safe and understand clearly that earth belongs to Allah and His Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Indeed, I want to send you all away from the country.  The person who can sell off his property, etc. for money can do so, otherwise you should understand that the earth belongs to Allah and His Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 1, Pg. No. 449)

The real and ultimate lord of the earth is Allah only, but we learn from this Hadith that earth belongs to Allah and His Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  This does not “establish” partnership with Allah nor does it “establish” something not being under the rule of Allah, but this lordship is virtual, which expresses the greatness and magnificence of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Allah, who is the ultimate lord, who has made the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) the master and ruler of the lord.  The belief that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the lord and master is perfectly according to the Holy Quran and the Hadith.

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has occupied all land

In Khasaais-e-Kubra, Imam Jalaaluddin Suyuti (May Allah shower His mercy on him) narrates on the authority of Abu Nu‘aim, in detail, the experiences which Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) had on the occasion of the Mawlid of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  He has written that Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) heard:

Translation: One person was saying:  Beautiful!  Beautiful!  Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has occupied the whole land.  The whole creation of the world has come under His power and authority.

This is showing the virtual lordship and mastership, which has no relation with Shirk.

The earth will not accept him

The earth obeys the orders of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  There is a Hadith in both Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, also narrated in Mishkaat Ul Masabeeh:

Translation: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Anas (May Allah be well pleased with him): A person was the scribe of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  He embraced Islam but later on defected and became a polytheist.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Verily, the earth will not accept him.

Hadhrat Anas (May Allah be well pleased with him) says:  Abu Talha told me that he had gone to the place where this person had died and saw that he was thrown there.  He asked about him and was told:  We buried many times but the earth does not accept him.  (Mishkaat Ul Masabeeh, Vol. 2, Pg. No. 536)
