A beautiful Dua by a great master

A beautiful Dua by Hadhrat Muhaddith-e-Deccan

O Lord!  We ask of you.  If we don’t ask of you, then whom should we ask of?  O Allah!  You are very benevolent, very merciful.

O You who provide refuge to those who are refuge-less!

O You who grant peace to those who are in fear!

O succor of those who are succorless!

O refuge of those who don’t have any refuge!

O support of those who are weak!

All our hopes are with you only!

You are the One who save from destruction

You float the drowning one

O One with tremendous power!  The whole world bows before you.  With what face should we come before you?  Let our Durud and Salaam reach Your Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  We come before with the hope of his support.  You don’t see us, see your Prophet.  We take His name.  We are your slaves, but we are runaway slaves.  We have wandered from door to door Man Yaghfirudh Dhunuba Illallah.  No one can forgive sins except you.  After wandering here and there, we have come to your door.  Where should we go leaving your door?  Good or bad, but we are still yours.  You have thousands of slaves like us, but we don’t have any Master like you.  We are soaked in sin.  We are embarrassed that we could not perform any good deeds.  Our heads are bowed.

Lord!  We cry on our intellect.  What is that intellect which does not desire its friend?  O Lord!  What should I do?  Enemy has stolen the store of life.  What should I do?  Whatever I do falls flat.

O Lord!  We are very bad slaves of yours.  We are ashamed to even call ourselves your slave.  A slave of a Sovereign like you should be like you, not a sinner like me.  I am ashamed.  A slave of a Sublime Lord should be pure.  How munificent are you!  How your mercy gushes!  Our heedlessness is like this, but even then you remember us.  Our sins are like this.  Still you call us for forgiveness.  The way a mother hides the sins of her child, in the same way you hide our sins.  You don’t allow us to be debased.  You see our mistakes upon mistakes and still grant sustenance (Rizq).  If you had chopped us into pieces, we would have deserved it.  But my Lord!  We did what suited us.  You do what suits you.  What suits is that you wipe out the sins and write virtues in their place.

Your 1 mercy is in this world and 99 are in the hereafter.  Although our sins are great, but is 99 degrees of mercy any less?  That is why we say, wipe out our sins and write virtues in their place.

O Lord!  We repent all our sins.  Never will we do them and guide us never to do them.

Lord!  Grant us such fear of Yours that no sin is committed by us.  Make us obey You so much which will take us into Jannah.  Let us have such certitude in Your will that the difficulties of this world become easy for us.

Lord!  Don’t give us such a difficulty that will spoil our Deen.

Lord!  Don’t make the world such in our eyes that we think that this world is everything and don’t care at all for the hereafter.  Lord!  You are that Sublime Being that no one can see you.  No one’s thoughts can reach you.  Nobody can describe You as You are.  Happenings cannot change You.  You are aware of every bit of the universe.  Nothing can hide from You.  Our request is that You make latter part of our life should be better than the former one.  Make our last act better than our previous ones.  The best of all days should be the one when we meet You.

O our Sovereign!  We have one more request.  Your glory is strange.  You reveal virtues and hide sins.  You don’t rend anybody’s veil.  You are a very great forgiver.  Your forgiveness is very expansive.  The way people call a child with love, in the same way, you spread Your hands of mercy.

O knower of all secrets!

O remover of all complaints!

O Forgiver of all sins!

O You who have mercy on us without our deserving it!

Our sovereign! Our Lord!  Listen to one request of ours:  Don’t burn our bodies in hell!

The way a mother stops a child from every harmful thing, who does not see whether it is fire or snake or scorpion, just jumps at it, in the same way, O You who love us more than a million mothers!  Protect us from everything, which will harm us in the hereafter.

Lord!  The way the eyes of the worldly people are cooled with this world, let our eyes be cooled with Your worship.

Give us the yearning of Your vision.  O succor of the succorless!  Don’t give us to the enemies that or Self (Nafs) and Satan misguide us from your path.

Lord!  Give us Halal sustenance.  Always save us from Haraam sustenance.

Lord!  What mention of those who are unwise?  For the sake of your wise slaves who perform your Dhikr all the time, standing, sitting, lying, no moment do they spend heedless of you.

O Lord!  For the sake of those close to You!

Lord! For the sake of Your greatness!

Lord! For the sake of Your majesty!

Lord!  For the sake of the blessed name of Your Beloved Prophet!

O Lord!  For the sake of the love that Your lovers have for You!  For the sake of the Dhikr and contemplation of Your Dhakireen.

Grant sense to us!  Our heedlessness should pass and we get a taste of your remembrance and contemplation.
