Hadhrat Muhaddith-e-Deccan - Truly illustrious in all aspects

Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) is a flawless Sufi.  Tasawwuf is the name given to the cleaning of hearts.  Hadhrat (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) has cleaned the hearts of innumerable people.  Through his company, many people became pious, well meaning and were blessed with the ni’mah of the heart.  He taught many people, the sciences of the Shariah, the secrets of the Tariqa and the nuances of the Shariah.  Even today his spiritual legacy is being carried forward.

Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) illumined the world with his normative and mystical knowledge.  Even today, his books are stars of guidance for those who desire the path of truth and the proximity of Allah Ta’ala.  He was an expert in the exegesis (Tafseer) of the Holy Quran.  He has written Tafseer Surah Yousuf.  His other books also are filled with Tafseer of many different verses of the Holy Quran.  In the interpretation of the verse,

It is He who hath produced you from a single person: here is a place of sojourn and a place of departure.  Surah Anam (6:98)

Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) writes and proves that the import of this verse is what can be understood without any circumlocution or evasive techniques (Tawil).  In fact, the real import of this verse is that the Powerful Lord who created this world, created this world from one Person, i. e.  the Noor of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  For this reason, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says: The thing which Allah Ta’ala created first is my Noor.

“Mawaaiz-e-Hasana” is a great book in the world among the books of Tasawwuf.  These are not only sayings and utterances, but are a memoir of the social and cultural ethos of that era.  It is for this reason that they are looked upon with respect.  “Mawaaiz-e-Hasana” is a great addition to the corpus of Urdu literature.  Their language is very lucid and the style is heartwarming, even a layman can understand them very easily.

The Imams and the Jurists (Mujtahideen) are all in agreement on the principles of Islam, but the difference of opinion about the branches of Islam, is on the basis of Ijtihaad i. e. on the basis of their research and the way they interpret the law.  Every Imam has Hadith in support of his school of Fiqh and the followers of each school of Fiqh respect each other.  No one taunts each other.  But from some quarters, objections are being raised on the Hanafi school of Fiqh that it is based only on opinions and estimations and some have gone to the extent that Imam Abu Hanifa (May Allah be well pleased with him) does not have well authenticated (Sahih) Hadith! In this connection, Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) authored a noteworthy book by name “Zujajatul Masabeeh” in 5 copious volumes.  In these books, he has recorded those Hadith which are the foundation of Hanafi school of Fiqh.  Maintaining the reverence and respect of the other Imams, he has recorded Hadith, irrespective whether they are related to worship or to affairs of daily life.  He has mentioned the proofs for the Hanafi school of Fiqh.  He has authored very valuable explanatory notes.  He also explained each and every Hadith in many different manners.

Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) is a great Sufi of India and in particular of Deccan.  He has nurtured the souls of thousands of disciples.  Through his character and life, he has explained the rules of the Shariah to every person; he has guided his disciples on the path to Allah Ta’ala suluk and as an author and a Sufi, he has blessed his disciples with the secrets, teachings and the illuminations of the Naqshbandi order of Tasawwuf.  His whole life was spent in worship and writing.  Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah Ta’ala shower His Mercy on him) was such a follower of the Shariah and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) that every act of his would be a portrayal of the Sunnah.
