Imam Hasan-2

Reward of loving the Ahle Bait of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

Translation of Hadith: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him): The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: The first people to enter Jannah (along with you) will be Hadhrat Fatima, Imam Hasan and Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them).  I asked: What about those who love us?  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) answered:  They will be behind you.  (Mustadrak Alas Sahihain, Hadith No. 4706)

There is another Hadith in Sunan Ibn Majah:

Translation of Hadith: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever loves Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them), in fact loves me and whoever has enmity against them has in fact enmity against me.  (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 148)

His generosity:

Once, Imam Hasan, Imam Hussain and Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Jafar (May Allah be well pleased with them) were going to Makkah for Haj.  On the way, they found the hut of an old woman.  They went there and requested the old woman to get something to drink.  The old woman gave them goat’s milk.  Then they asked for something to eat.  The old woman told that she had only a goat and nothing else.  Subsequently, that goat was slaughtered and everyone partook from it.  They told the old woman: We are from the Quraish.  You come to Madina, we will give you something.

After they went away, the woman’s husband came and expressed his displeasure at slaughtering the only goat form absolute strangers.

After a time, the old woman and her husband became very poor and came to Madina and started living as laborers.  By chance, the woman passed the house of Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him).  She did not recognize him.  Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) recognized her and called out to her: O old woman! DO you recognize me?  She said: No.  Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) said: I am that guest of yours who you had served goat’s milk and mutton.  Then Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) gave her 1000 goats and 1000 gold coins and sent her to Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him).  He also gave her 1000 goats and 1000 coins and sent her to Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Jafar (May Allah be well pleased with him).  He gave her 2000 goats and 2000 gold coins.  The old woman returned rich to her husband with 4000 goats and 4000 gold coins.

(Shahadatnama, Pg. No. 19 Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan (May Allah shower His mercy on him))

His fear of Allah:

A boy was seen in Makkah he would rub his forehead on the sand and cry.  He was oblivious to everything else in his desire for Allah Ta’ala.  When people went closer, they realized that the boy was Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him).  They told him: Your grandfather (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the intercessor of the Mahshar, your father is so great, your mother is Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with them), what fear do you have?

He said: This is not the place to pride oneself on the greatness of the parents.  Here, we should be desirous of the benevolence of Allah Ta’ala.

(Shahadatnama, Pg. No. no 91)

His miracles:

Once Hadhrat Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) was journeying along with some people.  They reached a date palm, which was all dried up.  The people expressed their desire to have dates.  Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) said: DO you desire dates?  They replied in the affirmative.  Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) raised his hands and said something.  The tree became green and dates appeared.

(Shahadatnama, Pg. No. 93)

His martyrdom:

He was martyred by poisoning on 5 Rabe’e Ul Awwal in either 50 or 49 Hijri in Madina.  His blessed grave is in Madina Munawwarah. (Tarikh Ul Khulafa, Vol., 1, Pg. No. 78)
