Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her)

Among the women she was the first who embraced Islam.  The respected wives of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) are the mothers of the whole Ummah (Followers).  Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) graced them with the distinctive dignity and high degree among the women, only because of their marital relationship with the beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  He honored them with the gift of piety and purity and bestowed them with the chador (sheet) of Chastity and modesty and made them as an ideal for the women upcoming until the dooms day and made their dignity and magnificence so high that no other woman in the world can ever reach it.  Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) said:

 

Translation: O ye wives of the Prophet! Ye are not like any other women.  (Surah Ahzab: 32)

 

It is given in Sahih Bukhari that Hadhrat Jibraeel (Peace be upon him) arrived in the sacred presence of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and said that, Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with her) is fast approaching in your presence with food in an utensil and when she arrives, then kindly convey the salaam (greetings) of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and mine to her and also give the glad tidings of a Pearl Palace for her in Paradise.  In which, there will no sound disturbance and no other pain and suffering.

 

It is narrated in Jami Tirmidhi that the Holy Prophet used to remember only her a lot, after she passed away into the presence of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and whenever He slaughtered a goat, He certainly used to gift it to her friends.  (Tirmidhi , Vol.  No: 2, Pg.  No: 22)

 

It is narrated by Hadhrat Ali (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with him) in Sahih Bukhari that Hadhrat Maryam (Peace be upon her) is the best woman of her times and Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with her) is the best woman of her period.

 

Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah Ta’ala be well pleased with her) is the first among all women, to embrace Islam.  After the proclamation of Prophethood, when the waves of protest aroused from all sides, then she as the intimate friend for life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) became the reason for His solace.

 

At the time of her marriage, she was 40 years old and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was 25 years old.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) never married again, during her period of life.  Khadija bid goodbye to this World 10 years after the announcement of Prophethood and her blessed grave is in Jannatul Mualla in Makkah
