The preparations for the coming

 

Now listen what kind of preparations were made when this real light was dawning.  Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says:  At the time of the birth of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), such a light issued forth from me that the whole world was illuminated with it.  Thus, the mansions of Syria became visible to me.

 

The mother of ‘Uthman bin Abil A’as who was with Hadhrat Amina (May Allah be well pleased with her) says that before the birth, wherever I would see, I would see only radiance.  The stars seemed as if they were crowding around the house.

 

Hadhrat Shifa (May Allah be well pleased with her), the mother of Hadhrat ‘Abdur Rahman bin ‘Auf (May Allah be well pleased with him) says:  That radiance lifted the veils off my sight to the extent that I could see the east and west and I saw the houses of Rome.

 

This light, this radiance of whose coming tidings had been given was a light outwardly, but its reality was entirely different.  Bringing one’s sight to the level of foresight and illuminating everything dark in the body is not something which a mere light can do. 

 

This was not the radiance of the sun whose light illuminated superficially.  This was the radiance of the One about whom is said:  I am from the radiance of Allah.  This light entered the bodies themselves.

 

That day there was a certain light in the world which the mind cannot comprehend.  That day, the angels were ordered to open the gateways of the heavens, to open all the gates of paradise and to be present on the earth.  Thus, all the angels came gladly down to the earth.
