Hadhrat 'Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her)

Ummul Momineen Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her) is the daughter of Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (May Allah be well pleased with him) who is the most superior of all human beings after the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

The name of her mother is Hadhrat Umme Rooman (May Allah be well pleased with her).

Marriage with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) married her 3 years before the Hijrat and she went to live with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) 1 year after Hijrat and at that time, her age was 9 years.  Apart from her, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) did not marry any other unmarried girl.  There are many excellences of Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her).  Among them is that she would be spending the night with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and the divine revelation (Wahi) would come.  Allah Most High has revealed verses about her chastity :

There is a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Salma bin ‘Abdur Rahman (May Allah be well pleased with them) that Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her) said that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: O Aisha! This is Jibreel (May peace be upon him).  He is greeting you with Salaam.  Then I said: Salaam to him and Allah's mercy be with him and she said: The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) sees what we don’t.  (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No: 6201, Sahih Muslim, Hadith No: 6457)

The prodigious knowledge of Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her)

Almost 2210 Hadith are narrated from her.

There is a Hadith in Jame' Tirmidhi:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Moosa Ash'ari (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says that whenever we (the companions of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)) had any difficulty in extracting the rulings from a Hadith, we would ask Hadhrat Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her) and we would find that she knows it.  (Jame' Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 4257)

It is also given in Jame' Tirmidhi:

Translation: Hadhrat Moosa bin Talha (May Allah be well pleased with him) states: I have never seen anyone more eloquent and fluent than Hadhrat ‘Aisha Siddiqua (May Allah be well pleased with her).  (Jame' Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 4258)

Her passing away

At the time of the passing away of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), her age was 18 years.  She passed away on the night of Monday in Ramadhan 58 Hijri.  Her Salaat Ul Janaazah was led by Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) and she was laid to rest in Jannatul Baqee.
