Hadhrat Osman bin Abdullah (May Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that my wife gave me a bowl of water and sent me to Hadhrat Umme Salma (May Allah be well pleased with him). It was her i.e. his mother’s custom that whenever anybody fell ill, she would send a big container of water to Hadhrat Umme salma (May Allah be well pleased with him). Hadhrat Umme Salma (May Allah be well pleased with him) had the hair of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) which she kept in a silver casing. She would dip the silver casing in the water and the affected people would drink that water. The narrator says, “I looked in the silver casing. It had some red hair of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). (Sahih Bukhari Vol 2, Pg No: 875. Zujajatul Masabeeh, Vol 3, Pg No: 442, Mishkat ul Masabeeh Pg No: 391)
