Question: Maulana Hadhrat Maulana Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi Qadri Sahab, My question is that I work in Abu Dhabi; my job is to repair the defective computers. I don't have any other work to do; hence I take each an hour during the Zohar and Asr Salaah and will be at leisure during the job. Thus I play games meanwhile. Therefore is it permissible or not to do all such things during the Job hours? ............................................................................
Answer: After rendering your services at the job, if you are taking each an hour for offering your Salaah, then there is no objection in it. Whereas taking such prolonged breaks keeping huge pending work behind in the company is improper. Rather, take only the required time to offer the obligatory (Fardh) and Sunan and spend the rest of your time in the company. In your leisure time, instead of playing games, go through the Islamic websites and avail benefits from them; so that you may prosper in this life and hereafter. And Allah SWT knows the Best!
