Question:     What is the complete method of performing Ghusl?

Answer:     The scholars have described the following method of Ghusl (bathing) in light of the Holy Quran and Hadith:

There are 3 obligatory (Fardh) acts in a bath:  Rinsing the mouth, rinsing the nose and pouring so much water over the body that not even a single hair remains dry.

First make the intention (Niyyah) and recite "Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim" silently and wash both the hands up till the wrist three times.  Wash the private parts and wash those parts of the body where there is any kind of uncleanliness.  Then perform Wudhu as if for offering Salaat.  While performing Wudhu, don’t recite the Kalima or Durud.  Use a lot of water while cleaning the throat and the nose.  After Wudhu, wet the hair completely and pour water on head once.  Then pour water on the right shoulder, then on the left in such a way that the body is completely wet.  Rub the body with hands.  Similarly pour water two more times (over the head and both shoulders).
