f:903 -    Going for Haj with others
Country : Hyderabad, India,
Name : Muhammad Shahzeb
Question:     I work in a religious institution.  A few years ago, a certain person gave me money to go on Haj.  I accepted that money and completed my Haj.  Now I have enough money of my own.  Do I have to go for Haj again?
............................................................................
Answer:     When you didn’t have the requisite money, Hajj was not Obligatory (Fardh) on you.  However, somebody gifted money to you.  On accepting that money, Hajj had become obligatory on you.  By being able to go for Hajj, acquiring wealth, transportation, etc. is not meant, but physically going to Makkah and the Ka’aba is meant, regardless of whether this is done on one’s own or with somebody’s help.

With this Hajj itself, your Obligatory Hajj has been completed.  Now when Allah has granted you the means to again do so, then it would be really good if you perform another Hajj.  This Haj will be a Supererogatory (Nafl) Haj.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) knows best.
